二十年后又是一条好汉

Actually means:

It describes a person's fearlessness when facing imminent death. This phrase used to be uttered by those condemned prisoners (either good or bad guys) before their final execution. They showed themselves as tough guys who do not fear death, and they believed that they would be reborn instantly and become another tough guy who would continue working on what they had left behind. When applied to good men, this phrase indicates their essness of death and their inspiring courage; when applied to bad men, this phrase indicates their unwillingness to repent and regret even before death. It does not apply to women.

形容面对死亡一点也不害怕。多是从前一些被判死刑的人（好人或坏人），在被杀前所说的，意思是：自己是好样的男人，不怕死亡，并且死后可以再生，大约经过二十年又可以再一次成为好样的男人，去继续被中断的事业。用在好人身上有蔑视死亡，使人产生勇气的意思;用在坏人身上则表示他到了快死的时候还没有认罪、悔改的意思。不适用于女人。
