倍

倍：

1. Multiple numbers are formed by adding the measure word 倍 after numerals. For example:

一倍、两倍、 三倍、十倍、二十倍……

2.a 是 b 的 x 倍=a 比 b 多(x-1)倍

1)“是四倍”=“多三倍”,比如： 我们公司——200人   ； 他们公司——800人

可以说：他们公司的人数是我们公司的四倍。即：800÷200=4(倍)

2)“增加了三倍”=“增加到四倍”,比如：我们公司——200人   ；他们公司——800人
 

可以说：他们公司的人数比我们公司多三倍。即：(800-200)÷200=3(倍)

3. Multiple numbers are used to show increases.When we wish to express a decrease, we use fractions. For example：

工作效率提高了两倍，时间却缩短了二分之一。

One can never say 时间缩短了一倍。（X）

这个工厂今年的产量比去年减少了百分之二十。

There is no such form as 减少了百分之二百（or 两倍）x。
