Definition
马上 is an Adverb, that means at once; immediately; straight away; right away.
there is another word 立刻 in Chinese that is similar to 马上, but they are a little different.
立刻, describe the time as shorter and faster.
We can say, “我们马上就要毕业了”（√）
We can't say “我们立刻就要毕业了”（×）
“马上” indicates that something will happen very soon or that something happened immediately after another event. It is often followed by the adverb“就”。
（1）张太太家的门铃坏了，给物业公司打电话，负责人说马上派工人去修。
（2）请等一下儿，我马上就回来。

师说：“马上”是时间副词，有“很快”、“立刻”的意思，后面常常和“就”一起说。
常用格式：马上（就）+ V/Adj

生说：我们马上就要放假了。
很好：我可以说：“我们立刻就要放假了。”吗？
生说：不可以。
师说：对，为什么呢？
生说：立刻的时间更短、更快。（马上＞立刻）
师说：很好。有的时候，“马上≈立刻” 可以互换。
比如：我正在等你，我打电话问你“快到了吗？”你怎么回答？
