Definition
红 is an Adjective, which means “red; popular”.
Culture meaning:
Red is considered a lucky and festive color in China. Therefore, Chinese people hang red lights, paste red double-happiness characters, and light red candles on happy days.
A person who is lucky and popular is called 走红 in Chinese.
To say an actor is a 很红 means he or she is very popular.
