As per title, I started my Chinese learning journey since 2020 and it was been over a year. If looking at reading, listening or writing, I would say my I am an upper beginner and over a little of HSK 3. However, my speaking is not even close to HSK 2. Having trouble with using active vocabulary. Any suggestions :)

I have a personal suggestion. First of all, we should carry out thematic dialogue training, and compare and learn high-frequency or flexible words in different contexts, so that the purpose is clear and the effect is obvious. Second, we should orderly transition from simple to complex dialogues, and do not ignore simple but important words for communication

One practical way could be to listen to Chinese as much as possible. Start from easy ones, such as cartoons, simple songs, kids programs, etc.  while listening, repeat after them. If you learnt some ideas and words or sentences, try to speak it out in Chinese in your own words. This way, even you are not in a Chinese speaking environment, you can have opportunities to practice speaking Chinese as much as possible.
