personally, i think Xiaohongshu is a good place to find material for your primary Chinese Learning, they have many extracted explaination for how a Chinese character was made, and how to remember that easily. however, Douyin and Xiaohongshu are social media platform, it may make you lost your concentration easily due to plenty of content will appear when you try to focus on your lesson, that could lead to waste time and you may get lost in those confusing content about learning chinese on Xiaohongshu and Douyin. i think a textbook may help you better, and when you get trouble with any lesson in that textbook, you can go to research online or search some help from Ai learning app, it saves much more time than finding something to learn on social media.

Any learning method is effective as long as it keeps you interested and motivated. Whether you choose Douyin, Xiaohongshu, textbooks or other resources, consistent practice is what matters most. After all, persistence is the key to learning a foreign language well.
