狗熊见大家都在播种玉米了，自己却连一粒种子也没有，急得像热锅上的蚂蚁——团团转。

狗熊又没有钱买玉米种子，只好拿着空袋子去邻居家借。

狗熊去了猩猩家，猩猩说留的玉米种子刚够自己用，没有多余的了。

狗熊遇见了金丝猴，叹了一口气，埋怨地说：“邻居们都说没有多余的玉米种子，实际上是不肯借我。如今大家不再相互关心、相互帮助了。”

金丝猴说：“那你有没有好好想想，他们到底为什么不愿意借呢?”

狗熊气呼呼地说：“他们都是小气鬼，怕我不还他们吧。”

金丝猴说：“不要埋怨邻居，要怪就怪你自己。这几年，你老是把玉米种子吃掉，播种的时候就四处去借。你向所有的邻居都借过，借的时候总说要还人家，你还了没有? 你三年前向我借的玉米种子也没有还呢!”

狗熊说：“我不是故意不还，是忘记了。”

不懂得回报的狗熊，借玉米种子以失败告终。为自己的行为不是惭愧，而是以忘记了为借口。不管狗熊是假的忘记还是真的忘记，都是不应该的。

俗话说“有借有还，再借不难”，狗熊只借不还，还有谁愿意借给狗熊呢?不遵守诺言，就会失去信誉、失去朋友。一个不懂得信守诺言的人，怎么可能会得到他人不间断的帮助呢?
