得慌, a high degree or extent.

This refers to feeling very bored or stifled because of bad breath caused by illness or because of poor ventilation. When de huang is used after some verbs or adjectives (such as 堵, 渴, 累, 乱, 闷, 闹, 气, 疼, 冤, 扎),it shows that the condition as described by these words have reached such an extreme that one finds it intolerable.
