八面圆通:

Literally means:

be smooth to eight sides; be smooth and slick in establishing social relations.

Actually means:

圆通 means being flexible in dealing with problems but not stubborn or rigid.

The whole phrase means one is very apt at dealing with people or handling problems slickly, and can make sure he himself never suffers any loss. It is similar to ba mian guang in meaning.

It carries a derogatory sense.
