I guess the first step for you is to learn pinyin. Do you know anything about pinyin?
it is a pronunciation system for Chinese characters. If you can read pinyin, you can read every Chinese character. And step by step, you will learn more characters and their meanings.

Always start with pronunciation (pinyin, how to pronouce the right way), then adding basic vocabs, grammars and begin practice Speaking right away

Start with Pinyin, Focus on Tones: Mandarin is a tonal language with four main tones.
2. Build Listening and Speaking Skills
Spend your first weeks listening to Chinese as much as possible. Once comfortable, start repeating basic phrases and greetings.

You can use Duolingo, or other free apps. They teach you grammar, writing and sentence translate. You can also do a HSK course, that's an official course.

Bạn có lợi thế lớn khi học tiếng Trung đấy! Tiếng Việt và tiếng Trung có nhiều điểm tương đồng, chắc chắn bạn sẽ tiến bộ nhanh thôi 😊"
(你学中文有很大优势哦!越中和很多相似点,你一定会进步很快的!)
我有几个越南学生,比其他国家的学生,接受能力强!
推荐你看(带越文字幕),推荐《家有儿女》(家庭喜剧,语速慢)

First select a proper book for yourself from which you want to study, like for example https://www.cchatty.com/courseware/new-practical-chinese-reader here the textbook 1 and workbook 1 are something i started learning chinese from and HSK1 book and workbook is also good, then try listening more get yourself comfortable with listening chinese it is very important so try watching chinese dramas (it is smth i did so it helped me a lot later on) and try finding courses or there's free course on coursera for hsk or find videos on youtube to help you.

I can give you my path that led me to HSK3 next month:
Until HSK1 I only learned using Apps, I can especially recommend Hello Chinese and Super Chinese.
Online courses are really valuable, too. I learned the most with a tutor from Preply. meanwhile I started using apps like Cchatty, Tandem and Hello Talk to train simple sentences with language partners fro free.
You can find the HSK books here on the website, they are a really good start for understanding Pinyin and simple sentence structure.
