Example

Cardinal number 基数
If large numbers more than 100, such as 110, 1,100, and 11,000 are not followed by measure words, the units of the ten's place and thousand's place can be omitted in speaking and the numbers are pronounced as 一百一,一千一 and 一万一. This also applies to other numbers. For example, 530 can be pronounced as 五百三. If there is a zero between two digits, the unit after the latter digit must be pronounced. For example, 1,010 should be pronounced as in 一千零一.
