Hair coloring in Beijing
I have golden hair, and I like blonde hair. Now my hair needs a little maintenance. I want to add some highlights to improve my looks. It seems simple. Let’s look up how it works in Beijing.
Hit and miss of Coloring Hair in Beijing
My DIY hair color is finished that I brought from the US. Now I need to color my hair, I asked some blonde women lived in my area. They recommend me to visit some salons. One was in my area and the price was affordable. So I decided to go there.
I went to a salon in the expat area, the employee spoke little English. They used the French brand Wella. My first experience was excellent; the blonde comes out just like I desired it. Then I visited them again after a few weeks. This time I was confident.
When the dye washed out, my hair looks yellowish-white. I got panic and called a senior worker to check my hair. He mixed a new color and applies it to my hair quickly.
Then they washed out the second dye, my hair color was not yellowish anymore. It was like an ash blonde, not rather what I looked-for but much well than before. It was a weird experience; I didn’t know how to react.
Then they blow dry my hair and make an apology for the misadventure. They charged me only for coloring, the blow dry was free. I could not say anything, just laugh at it.
Luckily my friend traveled to the US and I request him to bring my usual DIY color from there. Now I can color my hair with my favorite DIY color.
How to get Dye your Hair in Beijing?
Rather than carrying a huge stock of DIY hair color from your home country, you can get dye your hair in Beijing without any trouble.
There are two great salons in Beijing, Z Hairdressing (Scarlet) and Catherine de France. They are famous for their haircuts and color. Both Scarlet and Catherine are Europeans. They are experts in their work and know all modern tricks and techniques but their skills come with a price. They may cost you 1,000 RMB for a haircut and blow-dry, and 600 RMB for coloring. They also offer some deals a bit cheaper than the actual price. If you can afford you should visit them. I just recommend you, I can’t afford their services.
For a cheaper price, you can go to the Russian area nearby Chaoyangmen and Ritan. Some salons are used to work with Russian clients. Once I went to a Russian guy who speaks English. He charged me only 100 RMB for a haircut and blow-dry. I didn’t color my hair there, but next time I will go to them to color my hair.
If you follow my recommendations and have a bad experience in the solons I mentioned above. I am not responsible for that.
