Hey I know the chinese section here is of course focused on mandarin but China as many diverse languages from different language family, within sinitic family and even within mandarin family of languages.
So I was wondering if some of you, or people you know speak other sinitic languages such as Cantonese, Hokkien for the most knowns to mandarin sub-groups such as Chengdu "dialect". And if you know or have ressources to learn them ?

P.S.: I think learning those sisters languages helpto have a deeper understanding, a deeper dive into chinese laguage and culture. I am already trying to learn Cantonese and Hokkien as of today.

Hello, I am a Chinese teacher and I am also from Chengdu. There are very few videos and materials of Chengdu dialect, but Chengdu dialect is not difficult, the tone changes. If you know Chinese, you can understand Chengdu dialect without any problem. environment to understand some "local vocabulary", and finally hope that your Chinese learning goes well.

你好,我正好是对外汉语老师,也是成都人,成都话的视频和资料非常少,但是成都话并不难,只是音调有变化,如果你会中文,听懂成都话完全没有问题,甚至可以根据语境理解一些“地方词汇”,最后希望你的中文学习顺顺利利。

Admire your learning motivators!

In China, there are so many dialects, Chinese sayings 三里不同俗, 五里不同音 (different customs in three miles, different sounds in five miles), so we can only choose a few popular dialects to study.

You can find a brief about Chinese languages, and after Mandarin, Cantonese is the most influential dialect.

Hokkien (Min) dialect is more commonly spoken in Fujian and Taiwan, you can search "Taiwanese Hokkien" to get some learning resources from Google.

There are fewer materials available for other dialects.
