If a pole vaulter achieves a miss on their first attempt at a height, they can pass to the next height, but they will only have two attempts at that height.

The men perform six dives, and all six dives must be different.

Three consecutive failed attempts/jumps at a given height will eliminate the jumper from competition.

Each athlete has a set amount of time in which to make an attempt.
