Thank you. I don't speak French or German but I really want to know about the languages. Do you have any recommendation if I want to study French and German?

The most popular Chinese textbook probably is the HSK Standard Course. However, its content is a little bit out-dated and I personally don't like the way it present the grammar. I would recommend you to check out Integrated Chinese, Boya Chinese, A course in Contemporary Chinese, Short-term Spoken Chinese, etc.

depends on their age. If they are children, recommend 《轻松学中文》。

Hi! If you'd like to practice listening I'd recommend Road to Success, if I remember correctly it is available on this site. I really like that book for practicing listening, it has interesting stories and cultural references.
I have Boya, we study in university from that textbook, the grammar is sometimes not listed in the good way, like I'd try to teach 了 differently and not separate each usage of it but mostly it is an okay book too.

You can start from HSK level 1. It is easy and systematic, supporting your learning in pronunciation, words, grammar and writing. Highly recommended! I have the textbook, if you need it, I can share it for free:)

Just daily life Chinese, I just want to be able to use Chinese in daily life. I don't think I will take a HSK test.
