The difference between “to think that . . . ,” xiǎng 想, and “to feel . . . ,” juéde 觉得
Xiǎng 想 and juéde 觉得 can be used interchangeably IF by“feel” you mean “feel that . . . ”:
Do you think that movie is good?
Nǐ xiǎng nàge diànyǐng hǎo ma?
你想那个电影好吗?
Do you feel that that movie is good?
Nǐ juéde nàge diànyǐng hǎo ma?
你觉得那个电影好吗?
BUT:
What do you feel like doing?
Nǐ xiǎng zuò shénme?
你想做什么?
How do you feel? Do you feel poorly?
Nǐ juéde zěnme yàng? Nǐ juéde bùshūfu ma?
你觉得怎么样?你觉得不舒服吗?
