七夕 Qixi Festival

今天是中国农历的七月初七， 称作“七夕节”或"乞巧节”。

“七夕”最早来源于人们对自然的崇拜。从历史文献上看，至少在三四千年前，随着人们对天文的认识和纺织技术的产生，有关牵牛星织女星的记载就有了。

作为中国民间的传统节日，七夕节的背后还有一个动人的传说。传说天上的织女，在一次下凡的过程中爱上了一个凡人， 两人偷偷私定终身。这件事被玉帝知道以后勃然大怒，下令将织女带回了宫中。而神牛被两人的爱情感动，偷偷用自己的触角划出了一条银河。从此以后，两人只能隔河相望。而王母娘娘也不忍看到织女受相思之苦，于是偷偷帮助他们在每年的七夕见面。

When the Jade emperor knew this, he flew into a rage and ordered the Weaver back to the palace. The divine cow was moved by the love of two people and secretly drew a Milky Way with his tentacles. From then on, they could only look at each other across the river. The Queen Mother could not bear to see Zhinu suffering from separation, so secretly helped them meet each year on the Qixi Festival.
